Giant Brain at Indiecon

Hi folks,

Been a bit busy in my 'real life' for the last little while but I am still working on some projects, and will be at Indiecon in November with some of those in tow. See below for more details.

So at Indiecon I will be running:

Action Movie tournament: This will be the first public playtest of the latest expansion to the 'Revenge of the B-Movie line of games'. Basically the same gameplay but with a few new rules to handle secondary titles and the shorter length of most action movie titles. This will also be the first tournament that 'The Giant Brain' has ever run and we will be offering the chance to win a preview deck or two of the game to those who come up with the best titles.

Reel Adventures: This action movie rpg is almost done and needs just a little more spit and polish. In order to give it that I will be running a couple of games and my good friend Andrew Kendrick of 'Dead of Night' fame will be running one that I can observe and take notes on. Hopefully we will use the top three titles from the above tournament as the film titles!

I will also be running some Inspectres and some other indie goodness. All going well I will have a brand new project with me to test with people. Catch up with me at the con if you are going and I will let you have a look at it the early stages.

Hi folks,

We seem to have had a problem with our shop recently but it is all sorted now so you can order from direct again.

A customre brought to my attention that when you clicked on B-Movie 2, it came up with the bundle instead. This is now sorted so you can buy one or other or both without paypal charging you the wrong amount. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Hi folks,

I am going to be attending Games Expo with my fellow 'Collective Endeavour' friends. It has been a blast the last two years and it sounds like it is just getting bigger and better all the time.

'Revenge of the B-Movie 2' will be released at the con, but I will also be running a game of Mob Justice on the Saturday morning and a game of 'Reel Adventures' on the Sunday. Check out this page, if you want to sign up.

Revenge of the B-Movie 2

The Giant Brain is pleased to announce that 'Revenge of the B-Movie 2: Monsters, Mutants and Mayhem' will be debuting at UK Games Expo on the 6th June.

Now you can let you audiences experience your films 'in 3D', cower before the terrifying 'Mutant', watch in horror as one monster 'Devours' another and throw confetti as a 'Demon' 'Marries' a 'Meerkat'. These and many more options will soon be available for the directors amongst you to add to their twisted visions.

'Revenge of the B-Movie 2: Monsters, Mutants and Mayhem' is playable as a standalone game or can be combined with 'Revenge of the B-Movie' for the ultimate in ridiculous film titles.

The game will be available through our website shortly after the convention and will retail for £9. We will also be offering a bundle of both decks together for £15.

B-Movie no longer available through IPR

I have recently taken the deciscion to pull B-movie from Indie Press Revolution. This is not a reflection on the excellent service that IPR provides, and I would like to thank Brennan, Fred and the rest of the staff at IPR for stocking the game and taking it to cons for me. As we release more RPGs it is my hope to sell them through IPR.

Great start to the year

Hi everyone,

Well it has been a great Januray here at GB HQ. I have broken even on 'Revenge of the B-Movie' and the game is now in even more shops!

Over the course of the year we will finally be releasing Reel Adventures as well as an expansion to B-Movie. That will hopefully not be all but I don't want to announce anything else until they reach a more finished state.

I will be attending Conpulsion under the Collective Endeavour banner at the end of March and then my next con after that will be Games Expo in Birmingham where hopefully so big launches will happen.

Anyway, I better get to sending out the latest version of Reel Adventures to playtesters. If you would be interested in helping out just drop me a line.

Happy New Year everyone, I hope you had a good time and that santa was good to you.

The Giant Brain had a great start last year and this year is going to be a busy one. First up I am heading to Conception where I will be releasing the ashcan version of 'Reel Adventures' my RPG of action heroes and diabolical nemeses. I am almost done with this but just want a bit more feedback before I release it later in the year, and want to experiment with the ashcan model to see if it can help. Any copies I don't sell will go out through the shop so keep your eyes peeled.

Later this year we will be releasing at least one expansion for B-Movie, two are in development at the moment and are starting to come together nicely.

These alongside a Stitch ashcan on the horizon and a new card game I have in the early playtesting stages is going to keep me a very busy guy over the year.

I would like to thank all the people who have supported me over the last 6 months and wish everyone all the best for 2009.

Dragonmeet!

I will be attending Dragonmeet this coming Saturday, 29th December, with the majority of my friends from the Collective Endeavour. There will be a whole slew of games running throughtout the day from killing Ewoks in 3:16 to post apocalytpic shennanigans in Hot Wat. If you would like to come and find me for a chat or a game of B-Movie or two then I will be on the stall all day.

Podcasts, Conventions and stock oh my!

Phew, the last month has been a bit hectic but I am still in one piece and hurtling towards some conventions at high speed. Also, 'Revenge of the B-Movie!' has had its first podcast review. Yay!

Yes indeed, we have had our first podcast review which is now gracing the airwaves of the internet. The fine folks at 'On Board Games' have reviewed B-Movie and given it a very positive thumbs up, or green light in their case.

In other news, I am going to be at the Furnace convention in Sheffield on saturday the 18th and 19th of October where I will be helping my mate Neil Gow run his new game 'Duty and Honour' and I will be running 'Hot War'.

In stock news, I am out again, but there is more on the way. Will put up an announcement once everything is sorted.

I am currently looking for playstesters for current, and future, Giant Brain projects. If this would interest you please read on.

'Reel Adventures' is reaching the end of its development cycle, and just needs some spit and polish before I start laying it out. Finding 'Revenge of the B-Movie!' at Gencon Indy

For those lucky people that are attending Gencon Indy over the next four days I have some news as to where they can pick themselves up a copy of 'Revenge of the B-Movie!'.

The fine folks at the IPR booth will be stocking 'Revenge of the B-Movie!' amongst other fine indie gaming goodness. They are located at the Forge booth, no. 1939, near other fine indie groups like 'The Play Collective' and 'Design Matters'.

"Revenge of the B-Movie!" is a fast playing card about making ridiculous B-movie titles. Players compete to make the best (worst?) film titles and then sell them to Hollywood for vast riches. After all who wouldn't want to see 'Killer Tomatoes from Outer Space vs. The Chainsaw Wielding Bikers from Hell'.

B-Movie SOLD OUT! temporarily

Yes that's right folks I have sold through the first run of 'Revenge of the B-Movie!' which is fantastic, but does mean I am out of stock, temporarily. However more is on its way!

The second run was ordered a little while ago and should be leaving the the printers tomorrow. Half of that run will be coming straight to me whilst the other half will be heading to the fine folks over at Indie Press Revolution. Yes that's right folks you will soon be able to purchase the game from those fine souls over at IPR and it will also be available at Gencon through their stall.

More news coming soon on one of our forthcoming projects and a chance to get involved in playtesting future projects.

First Review

The first review of 'Revenge of the B-Movie!' went up just after Games Expo. You can find it through our new 'Reviews' page.

I have update the retailers page recently as well to include the first two shops to stock our games. Hopefully we will be adding some more over the coming weeks and months. The next month or so should see us putting in our second order for the game and also securing a couple of distribution deals. More on that though nearer the time.

Games Expo a great success, shop news

Well I am back from the hallowed ground of Birmingham and I am happy to report that Games Expo 2008 was a great success for 'The Giant Brain'

I was on the Collective Endeavour stall which was great fun, and we ran loads of demos and did some good sales over the weekend. I took 42 'Revenge of the B-Movie' with me, sold 40 and comped 2. A fantastic start I think you will agree. I am awaiting the second part of my first run and then I will be putting the shop site live. That should hopefully be by the end of this week.

B-Movie arrives!!!

B-Movie has finally arrived! It looks fantastic and I am very excited about launching it at 'Games Expo' in Birmingham. The official launch date will be 31st May, and I will be opening up the shop part of the website on the 2nd of June, once I am back from the con.

In other news I have finalised details for the American launch of the game. It will be available through the 'Guild of Blades' site, URL to be confirmed. Those who wish to can still order it direct from our site and it will be shipped over to the states. Pics to follow as soon as I can upload them.

I arrived home today to find a parcelforce pick up note amongst my mail. Fingers crossed it will be 'Revenge of the B-movie'. See below for some info on buying the game stateside.

In other news 'Guild of Blades' will be putting together a retail site soon which will include 'Revenge of the B-Movie'. This will make it a lot easier for gamers on that side of the pond to buy it. Of course you can still order it directly from this site as well. I will be posting up the launch details for the product in the next day or so.

Updates and Tuck boxes

We have updated the site a little to make things easier to maintain and you can find a picture of the tuck box on our forums.

Well some of my fine friends have finshed doing some web jiggery pokery to my site so that things are a little easier to update for me. Basically this means the front page looks a little tidier and the news page has changed. For each article you will get the date, title and a brief summary. Sometimes you will have a little bit below it that you can open by clicking 'read more'. In these sections I will expand on the above article. Much like I am doing now.

In other news Ryan at Guild of Blades has sent me a picture of the tuck box. You can find it over in our forums. Looks good and the stock is now on its way. I will be announcing a release date very soon.

It has been a hectic couple of months for me but I have finally gotten out of the post-christmas madness that goes on at my work and can get back to concentrating on the Giant Brain. This is going to be a big year which will see the launch of our first product which I am really looking forward to. At the moment it is looking like that will be 'Reel Adventures' as I am still working out how to get 'Revenge of the B-Movie' out there. I have started updating my blog again which you can find here.

Unfortunately my difficulty in finding a reasonable quote for B-Movie continues and I have had to delay the project until 2008. When in 2008? Your guess is as good as mine.

In other news, work continues on 'Reel Adventures' and 'Stitch'. I will be present on the Collective Endeavour Stall at Dragonmeet, wearing my 'Mob Justice' hat. However I will have draft versions of 'Reel Adventures', 'Stitch' and 'B-Movie' with me for people to look at and play. See you there.

Welcome to the Giant Brain!

Well after much hard work and help from friends I have finally launched my site. A big thank you to everyone who helped me understand how to get this done. I could not have achieved this without your technical expertise and emotional support.

Over the next couple of months there will be more information about 'Reel Adventures', 'Revenge of the BMovie' and a project in early stages of development called 'Stitch'. If you want to ask any questions please visit our forums.
