So this game idea started out a little strange. I had this image in my head of a group of people sitting around, and equal number of men and women, playing a game. At some point someone says 'Oh, Mr. Darcy' there is resolution and hilarity ensues. What do I do with that image?

Well here are some initial thoughts, in no particular order:

1) It is an after dinner party game and so need to be easy to learn, but not necessarily overly simple.

2) It should be set in a 'Jane Austen' style country house at a big party with rich bachelors and beautiful spinsters, played by the men and women respectfully.

3) Talking it over with some friends, we thought the aim of the men should be to pass themselves off as the richest in the room and the aim of the women is to attract the attention of that man.

4) There will be a few rules about what you can and can't say, like the men can't mention how rich they are directly. More of these need worked out.

5) When you adhere/ break rules you gain/ lose stature in some way or form.

That is about it for now until I have done some research on the period and ettiquette rules of the period.

Any ideas please pitch in.

Cheers

Iain
