Introduction
Welcome to 'Reel Adventures' a game where you can survive a hail of bullets, kick the ass of an army of bad guys using only a baseball bat and defeat the vilest of villains with one hand tied behind your back (sometimes literally). Getting the girl, saving the world and standing tall for truth and justice are just all in days work for you and your buddies.

From the pyramids of Egypt to the depths of space your heroes' stories will be told. There will be explosions, tears, arguments, fights, friendships made and broken, mystical weapons found and lost, guns fired, shots taken, lives saved and sacrifices made.

I cannot tell you what will befall your group but of one thing I can be certain. You are heroes! You stand in the light when the world falls into darkness! You take on the job that no one else can or will and by god you are going to look good doing it!

How does it work?
'Reel Adventures' is a game where you and your friends collaborate to shoot an action film, full of explosions, minions and death defying stunts. You will take on the roles of heroes willing to sacrifice themselves for the good of all and one of you will adopt the mantle of the nemesis, seeking to destory or control the world for their own nefarious reasons.

Structure
The game starts off with a 'Pitch' scene where the writers, played by the heroes, try and sell their movie to the 'studio', played by the one who took on the nemesis. This establishes the basics of the film before shooting begins: who are the heroes and what is at stake for them, who is the nemesis, what sort of scenes are going to be in the trailer etc.

Once the pitch scene is over, the players can fill out some bits and pieces on their 'character sheets'. A bit of background for each of the heroes and the nemesis as well as what is at stake for the heroes. On top of that each hero gets a starting resource that will come into play during action scenes. This could be his favourite gun, a signature move or a particular mannerism he has.

Shoot
Now that you have everything ready to go it is time to start shooting the film. The heroes take it in turn to frame, shoot and the wrap a scene. This scene may contain some action, or it may just be to add some colour to the film. If it contains actions then a deck of playing cards is used to narrate how the scene plays out, and who the victor of the action is.

Meanwhile, somewhere more evil, the nemesis can intervene in any scene he wishes by spending threat. Threat builds up at the start of every scene, and allows the nemesis to attack the heroes, create henchmen, minion, base and personal resources. The nemesis also takes on the role of any opposition in each scene, playing the conmen, lieutenants, assasins and other nefarious people the heroes will encounter.

Final Countdown
Eventually the heroes will come head to head with the nemesis and an almighty final scene will take place. The result of this action determines what happens to the heroes' stakes, that have been accumulating 'danger' over the course of the film, as well as how much the nemesis is defeated by. The nemesis will lose, make no mistake, but how badly they lose will be determined by the efforts of our heroes.
